Silvia Gramolelli

Silvia ‘s research interests revolve around elucidating the intricate molecular processes that underlie viral oncogenesis. By employing cutting-edge techniques and multidisciplinary approaches the aim is to uncover the mechanisms by which viruses manipulate cellular machinery, disrupt regulatory pathways, and promote oncogenic transformation. Through a comprehensive understanding of these processes, the research will contribute to the development of targeted therapies and interventions for virus-associated cancers.

Recently awarded the prestigious Academy of Finland research fellowship (now Finnish Research Council), Silvia will embark on an exciting new phase of her career in September 2023, starting her own research group.

While preparing to establish her research group, Silvia and her team remain actively engaged with the Sistonen lab’s scientific activities. The continued collaboration with the lab provides valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, mentorship, and collaborative projects.
